The impulse to create a story is common to every culture. It is our nature to take the patterns life offers us and give them meaning. Each of my submitted paintings has two narratives that represent the sequential way we create modern stories and reference our technology-based reality. Within these narratives, perception may be challenged, blurred by a fractional moment or static and succinct. These works share a common inspiration: to convey the connection between relationships and the uniquely human impulse to explore stories found therein. Stories bind us and we find them everywhere. By finding definition in the stories we create, we find and define ourselves.
